GET TO KNOW / EP FOUNDER CE101

Designed around the electric drive.

EP Founder CE101 is an EV performance tyre developed around the demands of electric vehicles: efficient rolling, a quiet ride, and support for vehicle weight and immediate torque. Its asymmetric pattern combines drainage on the inner side with larger outer shoulder blocks for steering and braking support.

A carbon-silica polymer compound is designed to reduce rolling resistance while maintaining road grip, helping manage the energy needed to keep the vehicle moving. The tread layout and groove geometry also aim to reduce noise and vibration—qualities that become especially noticeable without a combustion engine in the background. Its construction and tread support address the loads and acceleration demands associated with electric driving.

NEW ZEALAND DRIVING

Electric driving, around town and further afield.

EP Founder CE101 brings an EV-specific focus to New Zealand commuting and touring. Efficient rolling and noise control are useful priorities for quiet city trips and longer sealed-road journeys, while its tread and construction address the weight and torque demands of compatible electric vehicles.

PURPOSE IN THE PATTERN

The details behind the drive.

01

Efficient rolling

A carbon-silica polymer compound is designed to reduce rolling resistance, helping limit the energy used to keep the tyres rolling.

02

A quieter EV journey

The tread layout and groove shapes are designed to reduce tyre noise and vibration, especially noticeable in a quieter electric vehicle.

03

Support for grip and EV loads

Inner drainage channels help manage water, while outer shoulder blocks support steering and braking. The design accounts for EV loads and torque.

Understanding load ratings, ply ratings & UTQG

Load / speed: the load index and speed symbol identify the tyre’s rated capacity and speed category. A pair of load indexes gives the single and dual fitment ratings. Match your vehicle’s requirements.

XL and ply rating: XL identifies an extra-load tyre. A ply rating describes a strength category; it is not a count of the physical layers in the sidewall.

¹ UTQG: shown as treadwear / traction / temperature. These are comparative test grades, not a mileage promise. The traction grade relates to straight-line wet braking, rather than cornering.

KNOW YOUR SIZE

Look on your tyre’s sidewall.

Find a marking like the example below on the side of your tyre.

205/55 R16
205
Width — the tyre’s nominal width in millimetres.
55
Profile — sidewall height as a percentage of the width.
R
Construction — R means radial.
16
Wheel size — the wheel diameter in inches.

Enter 205/55R16 or 205 55 16 in the size finder.

Different markings or a 4WD size?

Some tyres use an inch-based size such as 31x10.50R15: nominal diameter, width and wheel diameter, all in inches. Enter the complete size as shown. Commercial sizes such as 195R14 are also supported.

Letters such as LT, XL or run-flat markings describe additional requirements. The numbers and letter after the size, such as 91V, are load and speed ratings. Check these against your vehicle’s requirements too.

Check the vehicle’s tyre placard or handbook as well as the current tyres. Front and rear sizes can differ. Your retailer can confirm the right fitment.
